The identities of the suspect in custody and the other at large in Sunday’s dual shooting incidents have been released by the Susanville Police Department.
Following a 36-hour investigation that led officers to believe the Frontier Inn shooter had fled into Nevada, 29-year-old Corey Jay Cutler of Susanville was located and arrested in Sparks with the assistance of the Sparks and Reno PD and Washoe county sheriff’s Office. Officials say Cutler was found to have items possibly associated with the shooting. The incident occurred just before 5 am Sunday, as reports of shots fired came in; a victim whose identity has not been released was shot multiple times and remains in critical but stable condition in an out-of-the-area hospital.
In the second shooting near Burger King and Mazatlan restaurant, only 14 hours later, officers say a person of interest has been identified. 36-year-old Patrick Joseph McIntire of Susanville has a warrant out for his arrest. The vehicle he is said to have fled the scene has been recovered and is being processed for evidence. McIntire remains at large. The Police department is urging anyone with information on his whereabouts to call the department at 2575605. Authorities say McIntire is considered armed and dangerous; you are asked not to approach him.
