Susanville PD Recognizes Teen Driver Safety Week

The Susanville Police Department is recognizing this week as Teen Driver Safety Week.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety says over 2300 teens died in car crashes in 2020, a jump of 14% from the previous year.

The department encourages you to have conversations with your teen about safe driving while they gain experience behind the wheel. You can take steps by considering provisional driver’s licenses, emphasizing the importance of not driving while under the influence or in a car with someone who is under the influence, setting ground rules, and leading by example.

You can follow the Susanville Police Department’s social media for more tips in recognition of teen driver safety week.
