No more driving out of town to get your in-office DMV appointments done; the Susanville Office is set to re-open next week. The office closed on July 13 for renovations and improvements. You will now walk into an office with new furniture, flooring, paint, and a new water fountain in the lobby. The DMV encourages you to take this opportunity to apply for a REAL ID. The process requires an office visit to complete the application. By May 3 of next year, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security will need a valid passport or REAL ID to board flights within the United States and access secure federal facilities and military facilities bases. The Department of Motor Vehicles will re-open the Susanville office next Thursday, September 8, at 8 a.m.
