The Sierra Fire Safe council has reinvented themselves in a move to reinvigorate efforts throughout the county. The council has a new website and logo. They have also started to meet on a monthly basis, with near future steps towards analyzing surveys, and establishing community meetings. The council has been able to secure a near 260 thousand dollars through the Sierra Nevada Conservancy with funding going through the next two years. By 2024 the council will have brought in funding over 430 thousand dollars dedicated to wildfire mitigation. You can visit the website at fire safe sierra county.org and help the council grow by taking a survey so the council can better understand your priority wildfire safety needs and concerns.
