The extended building window this season has allowed the SBTS trail crew time to make the new Upper Tollgate on Mt. Hough absolutely dreamy, sculpting beautiful berms and building out rock features—and all the new work is in great shape and running well (thank you again to Shimano-MTB Trail Born for funding this project!). If you head up there this weekend, you might run across some muddy spots, but nothing too bad. In addition—the bottom mile of Mt. Hough Trail is in the shade and could be frosty and slick most of the day, but for the most part, Hough, Tollgate and Taylor Creek are all open and ripping, as is the lower part of Acorn Grotto (as always watch for a downed tree here or there). Yuba Expeditions is running 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. shuttles through Monday—grab a seat, as it could be the last to the summit of the year with a weather shift in the forecast early next week!
