A family is searching for a lost Redding man that went missing just ahead of the latest strong winter storm with the possibility of being in Plumas county.

Alex Hays disappeared on March 10th after leaving his home for what his family believes was to go to the “woods,” but they weren’t sure of the location. Alex is a veteran logger who is known to frequent Chester and throughout Plumas county. A missing person report has been filed in Plumas, Shasta, Trinity, and other neighboring counties. He did not bring his cell phone, and the truck he left in could not be pinged. His family says that he has been a timber faller all of his adult life, & the woods are like home to him. He drives a black 2001 Ford F250 Super Duty Lariat XL/XLT with a camper shell on the back, license plate # 5LML694.

With the severity of the weather, there is the possibility he may be stuck somewhere & in need of help.

If you think you may have seen Alex or his truck, call the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office at 530-245-6540.
