If you have interest in learning more about the proposed new Quincy Courthouse, there will be a public informational meeting this evening at the Plumas Sierra County Fairgrounds.
A representative from the Judicial Council will provide detailed information about the new courthouse project, including its background, site selection, environmental review, and future steps.

The project has shortlisted three potential sites from the original ten: Dame Shirley Plaza, the Feather Publishing parcel, and the Stone House property in East Quincy. Dame Shirley Plaza is a contentious choice due to community opposition.

Construction on the new courthouse is expected to begin in July 2025 and conclude in January 2029.

The public information meeting will take place in Serpilio Hall on October 4th from 4 to 5:30 p.m., and a livestream will be available via Zoom.
