Plumas County Supervisors move to appoint an auditor after successfully filling the County Administrator position. Both are elected seats, yet not one person filed to take the offices during the June Primary.
Three candidates were interviewed this week in an open session in front of the board of supervisors. Two are currently employed out of the area, hold MBA’s, and have worked in both the private and public sectors, but none have worked for local governments. The third candidate is a retiree out of Clio willing to come out of retirement from working with nonprofits for a turn at local government. A fourth candidate is the current acting auditor, who initially applied for the position but was told they did not qualify, which was appealed, and approved.
More interviews are set to take place on October 4th.
