In an effort to foster early childhood literacy, the Plumas First 5 program has collaborated with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, bringing free books to young minds in the local community each month.
Supported by funding from the Plumas Unified School District (PUSD), the initiative targets children in the first 5 years of life, providing them with access to quality literature. Currently, 260 children are enrolled in the program, but organizers have set an ambitious target of enrolling 350 youngsters by the end of the fiscal year on June 30.
The partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library underscores a commitment to nurturing the imagination and educational development of children. Since its inception in 1995, the program has witnessed exponential growth, with over one million books being distributed monthly to children worldwide. The Imagination Library has a mission to inspire children to “Dream More, Learn More, Care More, and Be More.”
The process is simple for parents eager to enroll their children in this program. Registration can be completed through the imagination library website.
