The Free personal woodcutting program has been extended until further notice in Plumas County. You do not need to have a Permit or tags yet you need to have a copy of woodcutting regulations and a firewood cutting map with you. Personal use firewood may not be sold and you can cut up to 12 cords per year. Commercial fuel wood is not part of the free personal-use fuel wood program. You can get a copy of the regulations and map by downloading it from the forest service website or by visiting the Plumas National Forest Ranger District Office.
