Plumas District Hospital announces it is bringing back the annual low-cost health screenings during the first two full weeks of May. Participants can pay $75 for a basic screening package that includes
- Complete blood count
- Comprehensive metabolic panel
- Thyroid-stimulating hormone
- Lipid panel
For an additional charge, vitamin D screening, hemoglobin A1C for diabetes screening and prostate cancer screenings will be available. Insurance will not be billed.
Appointments are necessary; walk-ins will not be accepted. Appointment scheduling opens Monday, April 27. Appointments will be available in the mornings, Monday through Thursday, 6:30 to 8 a.m., beginning Monday, May 4, and running through Thursday, May 14.
Lab draws will take place in the Rural Health Clinic North Fork Building at 1065 Bucks Lake Road in Quincy. The screening is payable by debit/credit card, cash or check on the day of the event. Participants will be able to access results through their patient portal. Those who do not yet have a PDH patient portal account will be issued an invitation on the day of their appointment.
Participants must not eat for 12 hours prior to the blood draw. They should continue normal intake of water and medication.
