A Butte county man, Frank Christopher, is missing in the Feather River
Canyon. Plumas County Search and Rescue continue search efforts today in the
steep canyon with the addition of multiple resources including an Air National
Guard Black Hawk helicopter, and thermal imaging. Search teams have
expanded the search area significantly since the last two days. A specialized
mountain team was able to get deeper into the drainage on foot and located
on a ridge line some tracks that may have been Christopher’s.
Christopher went missing near Rock Creek where he was reported to have been camping
earlier this week. It is believed he went out for a hike and did not return. His
truck has been found parked in the area but there has been no sign of him. We
will keep you updated on the search efforts of Christopher as they become
available.
