A child went unresponsive after ingesting LSD his father bought; the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the Greenville man.

A 9-1-1 distress call was received by the sheriff’s office, with deputies swiftly responding to the home, where the deputies determined that the substance was illegally possessed by the father, identified as 38-year-old Michael Ontiveros.

Authorities say the LSD had been stored in a way that enabled the 7-year-old to access it.

The child was promptly transported to a nearby medical center. The sheriff’s office says the child is reportedly in good health.

Efforts to locate Michael Ontiveros thus far have been unsuccessful. The sheriff’s office is asking for the community help. If you have any information regarding this case or the whereabouts of Michael Ontiveros, you are asked to call the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office at 530-283-6300.

Plumas County District Attorney David Hollister filed a one-count complaint against the father, alleging he committed the crime of felony child abuse. A formal warrant has been issued for his arrest.
