Susanville’s planning commission is set to hold the owner, Lloyd Holm, responsible for neglecting the St. Francis Hotel, an aging building that has remained mostly vacant for decades, leading to its deterioration with broken windows and boarded-up doors.
A public hearing is scheduled for this Tuesday, where the commission will issue an abatement notice, giving the owner ten days to comply. This is the second time such an order has been issued, as the previous one from May last year was also ignored, prompting the city to take action and seek a new abatement order to address the property’s unsightly and non-compliant conditions.
The meeting will take place at City Hall tomorrow at 5:30 pm.
