The Mt. Hough Ranger District completed seven of the planned 20 acres of piles to be burned near Quincy yesterday. Work is planned to continue into today if conditions allow. You can expect to see Smoke again north of Quincy and in the surrounding area into the afternoon.
While driving through the area, watch for smoke settling into low-lying areas along Highway 70 and forest roads early this morning.
Firefighters monitor the piles and current conditions to ensure this fuel reduction treatment is done safely.
