Following the Dixie fire and continued hazardous tree removal throughout the many recreational facilities in the region several will tentatively be opening by May. PG&E’s Canyon Dam Day Use area is one of those set to open by May 6th just in time for mother’s day weekend, yet that is still dependent on whether fire damaged tree removal will be finalized. Yet Last chance creek campground and group site will remained closed through this year with a slight possibility to open late in the season. Camp Conery group campground will also remain closed this year as well. Though many of the remaining PG&E recreational sites will be open within the month of May for you to start enjoying. You may see the full list of open facilities and their date of opening by visiting pge.com/recreation.
