More delays through Greenville as PG&E continues undergrounding power lines.
You can expect to encounter a road closure throughout the process. Starting today through June 3rd Highway 89 at Powerline Road to Willaims Valley Road in Greenville will be inaccessible during all hours until the project is complete. PG&E suggests detouring around the closure by using Main Street.
HWY 89 and to Williams Valley Road will reopen to drivers on Sunday, June 4th.
PG&E has been laying underground powerlines to help reduce the risk of fires, reduce annual spending on temporary repairs and recurring costs on vegetation management, and lessen the need for wildfire safety-related outages.
The utility expects to lay over 60 miles of lines underground in Plumas County and once the work is complete, they will remove all existing overhead lines.
