This year’s prolonged winter has brought on a delayed camping season, PG&E announces opening facility dates well after Memorial Day.
For the 2023 season in the Plumas National Forest, PG&E expects to open not open camps until late June. Around Butt Lake, Ponderosa Flat Campground and Ray Adams Day Use and Boat Launch will open by June 23rd. On the 30th, Cool Springs Campground and the group campground at Ponderosa Flat will open.
At Bucks Lake, the west end cove day use is expected to open by June 2nd, while Indian Rocks day use will open on the 16th, and Haskins Valley campground will open on the 23rd.
Around Lake Almanor, you will be able to use the Canyon Dam Day use area by June 23rd, along with Marvin Alexander Beach Day Use Area and Rocky Point Campground
Not until June 30th the Eastshore Picnic Area and Rocky Point Group Campground will welcome recreationists.
The Last Chance Creek area will have the group camp closed for the season, with the campground undergoing repairs from the Dixie Fire with an uncertain reopening date, though likely to remain closed.
