Plumas county’s search and rescue team is looking to secure a grant through the State parks OHV grant cycle to purchase new equipment. If awarded, the team will buy two snowmobiles and a trailer. This will expand their patrol and search and rescue abilities as well as increase response times to the backcountry, giving lost, stranded, or injured snowmobilers a better chance of reaching safety and medical care as quickly as possible.
Today through May 1, a draft of the grant application will be available for viewing, and you can support Plumas search and rescue’s efforts with your comment at www.ohv.parks.ca.gov. Written comments can also be mailed to PCSAR in Quincy.
