NOAA Says El Nino to Bring Wetter Conditions Again this Fall/Winter

Experts say El Nino will greatly impact global weather patterns as the Pacific Ocean begins to warm up. Meteorologists have been closely monitoring the weather pattern for months, and experts say it has officially developed. The National Ocean and Atmospheric Association’s Climate Prediction Center released Thursday that “ El Nino conditions are present and are expected to gradually strengthen into the Northern Hemisphere for the winter of 2023-2024”. As the Pacific’s water temperatures rise, jet streams become altered and shift the overall weather patterns across North America. This means storm activity from the Western states across the south will see more active storm patterns this summer and fall, and the state could continue to see wetter weather while the midwest gets less snow and more mild temperatures.

NOAA predicts as it strengthens by the end of the year, it could become stronger than the most recent El Nino four years ago.
