Mt. Hough Ranger District Completes 17 of 20 Acres in Planned Pile Burn

The Mount Hough Ranger District firefighters successfully treated half of the pile burning near the office and Highway 70. Crews were able to burn a total of 17 acres treated this week. There were minor smoke impacts to the north of Quincy along Hwy 70 between the Ranger District office and Keddie, but they improved by the afternoon. You can continue to watch for smoke settling into low-lying areas along the Highway and Forest roads early this morning and possibly this evening.

There are no plans for additional burning today or next week. The piles burning will be staffed throughout the day and monitored into the weekend.
