Susanville CHP reports that a motorcyclist and his passenger suffered major injuries after colliding with a car on SR 36.

On October 3rd, around 5 pm, Bobby Stanfill and Cheryl Morrell of Westwood were riding their Harley westbound on 36 on the east side of Fredonyer summit when Stanfill could not complete the sharp right turn in the road. The Harley crossed into the opposing lanes directly into Ranald McCart’s Kia Sedona.

Both Stanfill and Morrell were thrown from the bike and into the roadway. McCart immediately stopped and assisted the pair.

The two motorcyclists were flown to Renown to treat a shattered femur and compound leg fracture.

Speed, alcohol, or drugs were not a factor in the collision.
