The Modoc County Sheriff’s Posse hosted the Annual Aimee Boulade Memorial Junior Horse Show on May 9th. The event focused on young riders and offered a day filled with horses and sunshine.
Posse member Gary Workal led the show. There was no entry fee, allowing all kids to join without financial barriers. This open approach encouraged more participation and made the day accessible.
Riders competed in Senior, Junior, and Greenhorn divisions. Each division awarded two belt buckles. The High Point Overall winners earned $100 cash prizes.
Families enjoyed free food throughout the day. Donuts and coffee were served in the morning. In the afternoon, the Posse provided grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and cold drinks.
Judges Amanda McKinney and Diane Boulade helped run the competition. Announcer Kati Hallmark kept the event lively. Photographer Melody Pritchett captured the day’s moments. Robert Parlee performed the National Anthem.
Melody Pritchett also received a $1,000 Educational Scholarship for her commitment to education and volunteer work.
The Modoc County Sheriff’s Posse dedicates many hours to make this event possible. Their support helps keep the tradition alive for the community’s young riders.
Will you join the fun next year? What role could you play to support local youth events like this one?
