Meanwhile Modoc county correctional facility see’s its first COVID case after 579 days free. Sheirff Dowdy issued a press release commending the staff on their efforts over the past year but knew a positive case would eventually happen. The county is also experiencing a slight uptick in their positive case numbers as well with 41 current active cases and a total of over 750 positive cases over the last year and a half. Forty percent of the county is has also been vaccinated.
