The Mental Health Commission invites the public to participate in an engagement event on Monday, September 16th, 2024, at the Veterans Memorial Hall in Susanville, CA. This event is part of the Commission’s Impacts of Firearm Violence (IFV) project, an initiative aimed at exploring the connection between firearm violence and mental health while identifying strategies for prevention, intervention, and recovery.
Launched in August 2022, the IFV project is approaching its final stages, with a comprehensive report set to be published later this year. The engagement will feature Commissioners, legislative staff, mental health and crisis service providers, law enforcement, and other community members who will share insights from the project and gather feedback from those most affected by firearm violence.
The event offers a unique opportunity for community members to learn about the project’s findings and contribute to the discussion on addressing the harms associated with firearm violence. The Commission looks forward to hearing from the public on September 16th.
