Lassen Land and Trails Trust’s grant applications get another step closer to approval. 5 out of 6 applications have advanced to the second round of competition and would fund trail improvements throughout the county.
The projects include the Almanor Rail Trail phase 1, the Almanor Rail Trail – phase 2 environmental planning, and Mountain Meadows North env. Planning, the Modoc Line Rail Trail for environmental Planning, and Bizz Johnson Trailhead improvements at the Susanville Railroad Depot and BLM property. A decision is still pending on the Chester Trail Planning application for a 1.4-mile connector in Chester. Other funded trail projects in the planning phase include the Bizz Extension to Westwood and Fredonyer Trail System.
