Less than 1 Year Left to Get Your REAL ID & Susanville Office to Close this Week Thru Sept.

You have less than a year to get a REAL ID to fly within the U.S. You will need to upgrade to the new license by May of next year to pass through airport security checkpoints for domestic flights. The DMV is encouraging you to not wait until the last minute. You can save time by uploading your documents that are required for identity verification to the DMV portal, then bring the originals with you along with an image of the confirmation page to your appointment. The REAL ID’s purpose is to provide the most secure version of driver’s licenses over the past 100 years.

Yet to get that done in Susanville you only have a matter of days to get it done.  By Wednesday the Susanville DMV office will close for renovations through September. The office will be updated with new bathrooms, interior hardware, T.V. upgrades, new paint, floors, signage, water station, and furniture. If you have to visit the DMV in person you will have to travel to Quincy, Fall River Mills, or Chico. The renovations at the Susanville office will begin after the work day on Wednesday, July 13th. The offices are scheduled to re-open by Thursday, September 8th at 8 am.

Though if looking to have other DMV services completed you can get more done online as the DMV has moved many services to their portal eliminating previously required in-person visits including driver’s license and vehicle registration renewals.
