LCSO Stop Leads to Arrests for Drugs and Firearm

The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office deputies have been busy with drug and firearms arrests this first week of February.

On Friday, deputies made a traffic stop on a vehicle in Janesville. The driver, 23-year-old John Smith from Doyle, had a suspended license. The passenger, 45-year-old Larry Stratton, from Janesville, was on supervised release. The deputies searched the vehicle and found a loaded gun, drug paraphernalia, and evidence of drug use. Both men were arrested and taken to jail. Smith was charged with having a gun as a felon and drug-related offenses. Stratton was charged with having a gun, drug-related offenses, and breaking his supervised release terms.

Two days prior, deputies made two similar arrests on drug paraphernalia charges for methamphetamine and located a loaded gun during a traffic stop in Susanville. The two arrested were 31-year-old Brian Pitts of Westwood and 39-year-old Daisy Mayfield of Susanville, both were booked into the jail and face multiple charges.
