Lassen Supes Meeting Accepts Inmate Donation and Increases IHSS Wage

High Desert State Prison inmates will donate to the county.

Yearly, inmates participate in a fundraiser and choose an organization to “give back” to the community. This year they decided to donate the funds to Lassen County’s Behavioral Health Prevention program.

During the Board of Supervisors meeting today, Health and Social Services Director Barbara Longo will accept the donation of 1,025 dollars. Health and Social Services plans to use the funds to provide supplies to enhance current youth prevention programs.

During today’s board meeting, the county’s In-home Supportive Services will receive a wage supplement to meet minimum wage requirements. The increase would be .65 cents per hour. The agreement will remain in place through the end of 2025.

The board of Supervisors meets at 9 am today at the Supervisor Chambers on Nevada street in Susanville.
