Per the board’s Tuesday, Sept 24th meeting agenda the role of Fair Manager will become vacant as of this Friday, September 27.
There has been no explanation by either fair manager Kitlyn Midlgey or the county for the vacancy. According to the resolution under consideration, the board will look to approve the appointment of Samantha McMullen, the Assistant to the County Administrative Officer (CAO) and Budget Analyst in the Interim.
The resolution allows the CAO to appoint someone temporarily to fill vacancies, with Board approval needed for certain positions. The document says McMullen is qualified for the role and will receive a 5 percent pay increase during her time as Interim Fair Manager.
While McMullen serves in this role, the CAO will oversee the fair department until a permanent Fair Manager is hired and will return to her former position once a permanent appointment is made.
