Smoke continues to bring light impacts to surrounding areas in the Lassen National Forest as fall-prescribed burns continue.
Eagle Lake RD Firefighters continue to burn piles through this Saturday, as weather and conditions allow on the Diamond WUI Pile burn. You have likely seen the smoke to the southeast of Diamond Mountain. Despite snow last week, forest officials say burns were successful.
In the Hat Creek RD, pile burns will continue around Big Lake through the week as weather and conditions allow. Be aware you may spot smoke along Highway 44.
You are reminded to be careful if traveling in the immediate areas, and please follow all posted signs. Smoke impacts will be monitored and can last up to 2 days after ignitions are complete.
