Seasonal closures begin in the Lassen National Forest. With the seasons beginning to change and visitation declining, the forest service has begun to shut down of some recreation sites. Nine sites have already been closed including the Almanor Boat Launch, Almanor North, and Christie Campgrounds. By next week six more are set to close, with the remaining sites closing from mid-October to the first snowfall.
