At the January 15 meeting of the LASSEN FIRE SAFE COUNCIL, INC.. Mark Shaffer gave an update on Honey Lake Power. He stated the plant is running well in spite of a recent issue
with the geothermal well. HLP recently received two transportation’s grant awards in
December 2024. HLP is also submitting additional grant requests for projects at lake
Almanor and the Adin/Ash Project for next Spring and Summer. The plant is currently
receiving approximately 40 loads per day. Mark stated the plant is no longer on the market
for sale, as has been the case for the past ten years.
The next meeting is Wednesday, February 17 at 5:30 pm at the Susan River Fire Hall in Johnstonville with Guest Speaker: NOLAN COLEGROVE, Acting Supervisor, Lassen National Forest will be discussing updates on Current and Future Activities of Lassen National Forest
