The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office carried out a narcotics search warrant on November 15, 2024, at a home on Ash Street in Westwood. This operation followed an investigation sparked by the Butte County Sheriff’s Office after Thomas Morris and Cynthia Johnson, both Westwood residents, were arrested in Butte County with 84.9 grams of suspected fentanyl and 13.1 grams of methamphetamine. Both were booked into the Butte County Jail on drug-related charges.

Detectives in Butte County shared additional details suggesting possible drug sales and firearms at the Ash Street home. With this information, Lassen County Deputies secured a search warrant to investigate further.

The operation included specialized teams like Lassen County SWAT, the Drone Team, and the Crisis Negotiation Team. After calling for the suspects to leave the house voluntarily, Morris and Johnson eventually complied and were arrested without incident.

Inside the home, deputies found more suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and even a flare gun. As a result, Morris and Johnson now face several charges, including possession of a controlled substance for sale, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of narcotics paraphernalia.

The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Butte County Sheriff’s Office, the Lassen County District Attorney’s Office, and SEMSA for their support in making the operation a success.
