The Susanville CHP arrests a high-speed driver after a chase down 395.
Yesterday afternoon officers received a report of a black Audi speeding over 100 mph near Red Rock on US395 heading toward Susanville. CHP attempted to intercept the speeding Audi south of Red Rock but was unsuccessful. The pursuit continued with the Audi failing to stop and reaching speeds of up to 124 miles per hour.
The chase came to a halt after the driver, identified as Daryl Reinhold of Lake Tahoe, slowed down and made a U-turn just north of A-25. CHP units positioned themselves with spike strips, one located South of Rachel Drive in Doyle was successful, blowing out three of the Audi’s tires and forcing Reinhold to yield at the Doyle Grade.
Reinhold was taken into custody and booked at the Lassen County Jail.
