June Election Nomination/Declaration of Candidacy Filing Ends

The deadline for candidates to throw their name into the hat for county and city seats up for election in the June Primary Elections is here. Today at 5pm candidates will have to have completed their steps to become qualified to run. Some candidates have already qualified and the question is whether new candidates will emerge after today’s deadline. So far for the Susanville City Council candidates who have qualified include Incumbent Mayor Mendy Schuster, Glen Yonan, Russ Brown, and Curtis Bortle. There are three seats up to be filled, The Mayors, Pro Term Mayor Brain Moore’s, and Thomas Herrera’s.
Lassen county candidates that have at least pulled papers and some qualified include for Distric 5 Supervisor, JoAnn Sterling, Jason Ingram, and Thomas Traphagan, district 3 Supervisor Thomas Neely, and Incumbent Jeff Hemphill, Patty gunderson as superintendant of schools, Nancy Cardenas for Tax Treasurer, Dean Growden for sheriff/coroner, Nicholas Ceaglio for Assessor, Susan Rios for District Attorney, and Julie Bustamante for County Clerk Recorder.
Plumas county qualified candidates include Assessor cythia Froggatt, County clerk recorder David Hollister, Sheriff coroner Dwight cline and incumbent Todd Johns, Tax Treasurer Julie White, District 5 Supervisor Jeff Engle, with others who intent to return papers by today. Other offices on the ballot include superintendent of schools and the Auditor, for which none have filed.

Primary election is June 7th with the General Election held November 8th.

Your last opportunity to register to vote in the elections is May 23rd.
