Indian Valley Loop trail gets 50,000 from Friesen Foundation. The Sierra Buttes Trail stewardship announced the awarding of the funds from the private family foundation that will help start the environmental review process for the 70-mile loop, connecting Greenville, Taylorsville, and Crescent mills through the Plumas National Forest.

The trail stewardship explains Work in this first phase of the environmental review includes flagging of the proposed trail corridor, engaging with the nearby Maidu Indigenous tribe, establishing a written prescription and future fuels management strategy along the trail corridor and setting the project up for the NEPA and CEQA environmental review processes.

This trail is part of a long-term plan for Indian valley to connect to the existing Mount Hough trails network to encourage tourism as visitors of the trail can stay longer enjoying pit stops, dining in Quincy, and overnight stays along the way.

The loop is also a future connection to the Connected Communities Project which includes a proposed 600 mile, multi-use trail system on public land connecting 15 northern Sierra communities.
