Officers from the Susanville CHP office responded to the scene. Upon arrival, officers located a male seated in the driver’s seat of a vehicle stopped in the area along the shoulder, and the female party had been picked up by witnesses stopping to offer assistance. During the course of the investigation, officers learned a domestic violence incident had occurred between the male and the female. The male had also been driving under the influence of alcohol prior to stopping along the shoulder and had significant injuries to his face. After gathering statements from both parties and witnesses on scene, the female party was arrested for Felony domestic violence – 273.5(a) PC. The male party was arrested for 23152(a) VC-DUI and 243(e)(1) PC – Misdemeanor domestic violence.
