Promising weather conditions ease travel through the Feather River Canyon. Caltrans has re-opened Highway 70 to one-way traffic control. Plagued by continuous rock and debris slides through adverse weather, the highway has been open and closed numerous times since early February, yet hopes are high that this re-opening will last through the one-mile stretch near Cresta.
Caltrans reps advise that when traveling through the area, you stay alert, follow all traffic signs, and anticipate minor delays due to the ongoing construction and one-way traffic control. You can use the Caltrans Quickmap site and the state highway information network phone line by calling 1-800-427-ROAD (7623).
