Another slide has yet again closed Highway 70 through the Feather River Canyon.

Following recent rainfall, around 3 am this morning, more of the hillside came tumbling across the highway that has been under reinforcement construction since a year ago when multiple slides closed the highway for several weeks.

The highway is completely closed to traffic from the Greenville wye to the Butte County line.

Caltrans says State Route 70 is expected to be closed for an extended amount of time due to current and anticipated slide activity.

The slide pictured, provided by Caltrans, is at post mile 46 by the Shady Rest Area.
