Highway 70 through the Feather River Canyon, where a series of storms shut down the highway this summer, has happened again. The highway from the Greenville wye through Keddie to just outside Big Bend is closed. Caltrans closed the highway around midnight due to rock debris in the roadway.
The slide is located 4 miles east of Belden. Caltrans and the contractor, JF Shea, are on scene removing debris and assessing the area. There is no current estimated time on when the roadway will reopen.
Local traffic can still access from either side of the affected area.
