Over the past few years, Diamond Mountain Golf Course has faced financial pressures due to various economic factors, including inflation, increased minimum wage, higher electrical costs, rising equipment repair costs, and delayed infrastructure maintenance. These challenges have made it necessary to reevaluate the current rate structure to ensure the sustainability and continued operation of the golf course.
Upon staff evaluation and the desire to continue operations for the community, the City Council presented and approved a proposed rate increase at the June 19, 2024 meeting by Resolution No. 24-6325. This resolution effectively increases fees at the Diamond Mountain Golf Course, with the new rates becoming effective on July 1, 2024.
Fees increase to 23.00 dollars for 9 holes and 28.00 for 18 holes, Monday through Thursday, with weekend rates increasing to 28.00 and 33.00, respectively. A full rate schedule can be found below.
City officials say while the rate increases are essential, course operations are committed to maintaining accessibility for all community members. Options such as discounted rates for seniors, juniors, and twilight hours will continue to be available, and new discounted rates for veterans have been added to the fee schedule.
The proposed rate increase at Diamond Mountain Golf Course is noted as a strategic and necessary step to address the financial challenges posed by increased operational costs, inflation, and rising wages. By implementing this adjustment, the course aims to ensure the continued provision of a quality golfing experience and the long-term sustainability of the facility.
