According to a recent announcement, the Biden-Harris Administration will invest $33.7 million in wood product projects to promote sustainable forest management and strengthen rural economies. The investment will create jobs in the forestry sector and reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfires. $29 million will be used to establish or improve businesses that purchase and process byproducts from federally managed or tribal lands, while $4.7 million will fund temporary water crossings for forestry equipment.

The projects will support disadvantaged and tribal communities and help implement the Forest Service’s Wildfire Crisis Strategy.
