A heads up if heading to the Reno Tahoe international airport, expect delays as Nevada’s dept of Transportation completes road construction. Crews have completed laying over 14,000 tons of new asphalt in the southbound lanes and are switching directions.
Northbound I-580 will be down to TWO LANES from Peckham Lane to Mill Street beginning at 8 pm this evening through June 14. The On-ramp to northbound I-580 from the Airport will also be closed through June 20. Work will include resurfacing the interstate for safer travel for the nearly 170,000 daily drivers, as the current surface is nearly 40 years old.
The project aims to complete approximately two and a half miles of I-580, with projects continuing through this winter.
