The bell has been rung; Fire Chief Moore with the Susanville Fire Department says he has made one of the most difficult decisions of his career.
In a heartfelt announcement to the city council, the chief said he has decided to retire at the end of summer. Moore said he “will hang in there till the bitter end,” and he will do his “best for the city that has taken care of ” him.
Chief Moore has served the city for 36 years,s with the start of his career beginning as a volunteer. The Chief’s last day will be August 11th.
