Dry and Mild Conditions Expected for New Year’s Day Travel

Travelers can rest assured weather patterns will hold steady to ring in the New Year.

The National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration says the Forecast for travelers on New Year’s Day & January 2nd looks to be clear of any major storm systems.

A high pressure over the states is expected to keep most of the country dry, with high temperatures expected to be near or above average; some temps in the Nevada region could be near record highs. Forecasters say you can expect little rain in the next week with possible snow showers over the mountain passes and higher elevation highways, yet impacts to travel are predicted to remain mild.

Colder temperatures will return near the end of next week, resembling more seasonal norms.
