Notice drones flying overhead? Operations are underway over Likely into Cedarville in Modoc County for a broadband installation project.
Coordinated through Air Works, drones began flying Tuesday between 200 feet and 3000 feet, taking measurements for installation. Ground crews have also been out capturing data. Flight hours are between 7 am and 5 pm. Airworks says there should be minimal noise associated with the operations.
The company also ensures that the data collected will only include utility structures such as poles and wires, roads, sidewalks, and curbs, which are used for mapping purposes.
The drone operations are expected to continue through next Tuesday, weather permitting.
