Do not be alarmed; you will see smoke around the area starting today. Cal Fire and the Standish Litchfield Fire Department are warning those that live in the Standish, Litchfield, and Wendel Area that crews will be assisting in a 90-acre agricultural burn on the Dow Ranch.
Smoke will be visible in the air, with the burn beginning around 2 pm today.
Following today’s operations, Calfire will move to the Big Valley summit area. Crews will begin a fuel reduction project on 80 acres along Highway 299 between Big Valley Summit and Nubieber starting tomorrow. The project is expected to last through Saturday between 9 am-7 pm.
DO NOT BE ALARMED by visible smoke in the air, and you are asked to use caution when traveling through the area as you will see emergency vehicles and firefighters along the highway.
