Dixie Fire Update: October 13th 2021

The Dixie fire repair work continues around the fire with around 41 percent of phase 1 completed in the East zone. Hazard-tree removal along Mt. Huogh and China Grade Roads near completion. Repairs to dozer line and roads in the Round Valley Reservoir should be completed in the next day or so and Crews anticipate finishing the log-deck removal project on Last Chance Road today. Near the community of Milford, crews are assessing repair needs and developing a plan that will be implemented as equipment and crews complete other projects and relocate to that area. In the West zone repair work near silver Lake nears completion and dozer line, hand lines, and roads near 50% completion as well, and the Great Basin team 1 takes command of the West zone today and after over 90 days the last Cal-Fire resources have been released from the fire as no more growth is expected after remaining at its current size for the last three weeks.

To date crews have built containment lines that would stretch from San Francisco to Kansas city and laid enough hose line to stretch from Sacramento to Denver.

There are over 1200 personnel attending the suppression efforts with fire response crews and two helicopters available to respond to smokes or new fires.
