The Chester Public Utility District exposed its weaknesses and lack of clarity following the shut down and eventual reinstatement of the Chester Fire department following the discovery of the department’s lapse in insurance coverage. In efforts to restore the district and educate you and the community CPUD will be hosting a public presentation. It will aim to help you and potential board members to learn more about the agency. Some questions to be covered are to include, How CPUD was formed and what does it do? Its governance and daily management, how it is funded, and where those monies are spent. These were many of the concerns addressed from the community of Chester during the volatile board meeting that left the community in distrust and in disapproval of the district. You can attend the meeting on Thursday, May 12 at 5:30pm.
